Dear Frank Frazetta,
I just wanted to say thank you. It’s all I could think to say if I had the pleasure of meeting you. I wish I could have had the chance. Just a simple “thank you” that would never do justice to how much you’ve given me. Thank you for the endless hours I’ve spent throughout my life pouring over your work—trying not to imitate, but to understand your style. Thank you for providing such an amazing mystery, so much inspiration. How did you do it? How did you…
My Sketchbooks Must Lay Flat
It’s the one rule I have for sketchbooks of any kind; they must lay flat when open. There is nothing more annoying than sketching and having previous pages constantly flip back on you. The project took place in Venice, Italy from December 4–10th. The project lead was none other than Aaron Hillegass the famous mac developer, author and owner of Big Nerd Ranch.
Adding Context to the 5-Star Rating System
So I’ve discovered a little problem, that I have personally, with the 5-star rating system. What do 1, 2, 3 and 4 stars mean? With what little time I have to rate something, like photos (a few minutes after I’ve imported them from my camera), it boils down to I either like it or I don’t. How do I “grade” something that I like on a scale?
An Intervention for Creativity
I pride myself on not being a workaholic. When I’m lying on my deathbed I don’t think I’ll regret not working enough, so I’ve tried to maintain a typical schedule…
